That's a good idea.Thought I'd share the Christmas rope light/brooder idea again. This rope is warm to the touch and as you can see the chicks love it. I wound it on top of a piece of cardboard with a cut off box in top. Chicks are 3 days old if that and barn is 70* at night. I had to take them back from broody hen as she unfortunately died yesterday.
Sorry to bother again but two eggs are rocking again. Much more so. Humidity is at 37% and temp at 99.6. Im on day 17. Lockdown early?
I WANT THIS
I do sell chicks, I have Rhodebars, English Lavender Orpingtons, light Brahma's and then some barnyard mixes from my mixed flock.
How do you like the Orpington's. What age do they start laying and how many?

Oh,I won't get to by chickens from you,I live in maine, hehe.
That's a good idea.
What did she die from?
It wouldn't hurt. Just raise the humidity dramatically. Rocking eggs doesn't necessarily mean hatching is imminent.
I love them!! Mine started laying at about 8 months old. I don't know if your asking how many I have or how many eggs so I will answer both. I only have one hen and she will lay about 4-5 eggs a week. The past few days have been hot so she hasn't laid.
