Thanks for the input. Looks like I are off to the interweb to buy some shtuff. I currently have two (one red bulb, one fish) thermometers and was planning one getting the thermo/hygro combo thing I saw at wally world the other day.

What are you looking for bator wise? Styro or something more expensive?

HYGROMETER &
THERMOMETER SUGGESTIONS.......

you may want to pick up a hygro/thermo that has a high low temp reading on it as well... that way you can see what it swings to at night.

READ what the accuracy is on the one you want to purchase FIRST (example: Accuracy to ±0.9°F (±0.5°C))

I use cold packs folded in half to put my sticks and probes in, not water wigglers/snakes

ok Bubbles the one with the big face is from GQF while easy to read can't be set after calibration . the little one is called a Mainstays from Walmart if you look at the top picture you see the small one has a nut on the probe this one can be set after calibration . I do not trust digital thermometers at all . I pushed the probe through the top of the incubator near the center and it is at the exact right level at the center of the eggs . the big one $25.00 QGF the little $10.00 Walmart this is what I use and the hygrometer you just got . you can buy similar thermometers at auto zone we use them for automotive ac repair . as long as it can be set after calibration you are good .

The Egg-O-Meter has a sensor that is embedded in a synthetic egg which closely reflects the temperature of a real egg.

The temperature sensor is embedded inside a synthetic egg which more accurately resembles the thermal mass of the eggs you are incubating.
