It's another manic Monday, so it's been a little busy with a twist of crazy for me. Just dropping in during my lunch break to say howdy... :frow ... and to post some pics of a couple of my 6 week-old BR chicks. I think they're a pretty good size for 6 weeks, but then again... I've never raised chicks before. Those are Jan 1 babies in the background, so they may can be used for comparative purposes. Maybe someone with BR experience can tell more about their progress? My #1 pullet: And my #1 roo:

I let my 3 week old Seramas outside today

They are adorable!!

Should I set my big blue eggs earlier than the others.?? :)
Why do that, CH? Blue eggs don't take any longer to hatch than green or red eggs. If you put eggs in at different times, you'll have to lockdown the first eggs before the other eggs are ready. Better to put them all in at the same time, and see how it goes for the next hatch or ten...

Thank you, Kathy!

No. Set everything at once.  You may have to pull one of the oldest blues before the shipped ones arrive; cross that bridge if/when you cross it.

X2. With only one incubator I think it would be best to set all eggs on the same day.

About the stuck eggs last night- 2 came off, just stuck from dirt and poop on eggs, 3rd one I noticed a small crack on, and I barely touched it when it exploded. Had so much fun last night with egg yolk on my bed and floor, and cleaning all the other eggs and the auto turner.
Oh my. Sorry that happened.
