You Europeans are my heroes with your multiple month long vacations. Finally got around to cleaning out the snake tanks from our month long vacation. Absolutely disgusting, water and snake poo everywhere.
I start work again tomorrow with the chicken farmer's stand and my cleaning job. I'll be on in the afternoons most likely. Today though is cleaning the house so when I get home from spending 6+ hours packing meat in a refrigerator I don't have anything I have to do.
Some Americans don't even take vacations and often only a week at a time.
I have a calendar on the wall in the kitchen, and I just write on the calendar each day how many eggs I got. Easier to remember than putting on a spreadsheet (for me) - I can enter the data or count later if I want to look at stats... I also mark other things on there (weather/freezes, predator attack, etc.), so there's that correlation that can be made if needed.
Just what works for me...

That works. I have anywhere from 3 to 8 small flocks so it's a little awkward. I used to have dry erase tablets at all the coops so I could take notes and egg tallies for each flock and I haven't replaced the ones that got ruined or lost. I now take flats out and collect with a pattern and a space between groups so when I come in I can enter the numbers. I'm trying to get a handle on which hens are most productive as well as egg color and size. That won't happen as well till I get trap nests built. Or better yet when I microchip the hens.
