Oh goodyThey eat good too, but it takes more of 'em!
Better!!!
LOL, we have the RO going to the fish tank, the Freezer and available at the kitchen sink. The discarded water is now finally being funneled over to our Eucalyptus trees. We have NASTY city water.I'm no Albert Einstein, but if my calculations are correct... I'd have to say about 1/2 gallon per incubation... duh.
Funny thing is, I have a 6 stage RO/DI unit for my saltwater tanks... and I buy distilled water for my incubator. Pretty funny, huh?
(or stupid)
love the babies!! Thanks!!!!
this looks like a big chick, did you candle the bottom of the egg and see if the cam went all the way down to see that he had enough room to grow and then turn into position? he didnt quite get into a good position

That doesn't look all that odd to me. There is another thread that testing the theory that the pointier eggs turn out to be boys and the rounder ones, girls.

or eight pints...16 cups?I bought a gallon of distilled water for the first batch, and used it on the second batch as well. Just checked, and the jug is empty. It hasn't been used for anything else, so I'm sticking with my original calculation. Does it sound better if I say it averaged 2 quarts per incubation period?
Thanks for calling me whites

Thanks for the link! I've bookmarked it. These were HUGE eggs and the one that hatched was double the size of my silkies. It's also QUITE a bit bigger than the 2 marans I got from Gopro17. Yes, the bottom of all but 1 of the eggs showed the cam went all the way down.
