Well, originally my wait-list order was larger and I got 5 of them. But that was before I ended up hatching my Cream Legbars this year (earlier than intended) due to rooster injury and Mareks. So I freaked out about how many chicks were coming, and so I cut the order back to the original goal - GNHs and BCMs. I threw in some olive eggers for fun. But come hatch time, she was one olive egger short, so she threw back in one lavender plus and extra BCM, to make my own. Soon... that's why only one. I may get more later, but I really have my hands full already this year.

I hate to raise the possibility, but what about Mareks disease? If you feel his keel, is he thin? They can hide being sick really well. I hope it's something reversible, but this is similar to what happened to my Paula the day before she died. I had no idea she was sick.

He isn't thin. He's got a pretty large keel, seemingly perfect to me. I can't find anything on his skin except his neck, but I think that's just where he's been pecked because a lot of the hens are still bigger than him.

I looove Lavenders. I miss my trio a bunch. :hit

sorry, me too. Glad you got home safe with the weather.

Yeah it was slick...slushy....but home safe and sound.....I have a brand new mirror closet door in my truck....would have sucked to break it.

Nobody's been saying anything much, and I don't normally carry on conversations with myself....yet.

Heck talk to yourself why not....might actually have an enjoyable conversation.

Bingo is my least favorite game. It hurts me because I never win...

I know right...I never win anything either....it's funny it seems like it's the same people who win stuff all the time.

She passed away :hit:hit:hit

Sorry...:hugs

My dad and my family go to the Ducks Unlimited dinners, Ducks Unlimited is an organization. And a couple years ago we bought a ton of raffle tickets, and folded each one and put them in. No one else folded theirs, and out of 50 guns available to choose from that night, we won 27. It was so crazy we took them and gave them to family as gifts because we already have a lot of guns...

Ok my peeps, need a little help here. I am thinking about getting a 10 month old barnevelder rooster from someone local here. I bought some barnevelder hatching eggs from Northwoods Poultry that should be here soon and I would like to breed them. I am wanting the rooster so that I have different bloodlines. Anyway, the issue is that I currently have a serama mama with 3 babies that are 6 weeks old, 2 of which are cockerels. How do I safely introduce/integrate without anyone getting hurt or killed?

I am back. See you didn't even miss me.

So @kwhites634 any work on the coop today?
@MotorcycleChick Are you feeling better?
@Jessimom How are the chicks and eggs?
C...106 how is the chick with the bad foot?
Some, yeah; got both ends & one side bolted together so I can make sure some of the others are going to work out like I planned. I have the two hinged lids(that I suppose to be designed for cleanout, but I'll use them for adding fresh bedding) measured & marked. I'll cut them tomorrow when I can work outside. I hinged the lower portion of one side that I can flip up for easy removal of old bedding; much easier than the original design.

The whole build is taking place in my basement, where all my tools are located. That way, I'm not dependent on good weather. Have two saw horses set up, with plywood across the top, for a work bench. Everything except the sawing has been done there... DW is kinda picky about sawdust all over the house. When I get everything cut & fitting together the way I want it, I'll break it down (hence the bolts) an reassemble it in its final resting place. Not only would it not go through the doors all assembled, but it'd take two men and a boy to carry it if it would.

I remember when I had a German exchange student a few years ago who after a conversation asked me all aghast if I had any weapons. I just had to ask her, Well are we talking knives, bows, handguns, rifles, or something else?
