I just ran into this again looking for an image on the diary thread!!! I just have to share... I think it was the cutest most genius medical chick device I had ever seen invented!!

I made what I can only describe as a "chickie jump-up" for her and have had her in it for most of the afternoon. After about an hour in it, she already seemed to be able to stay upright a bit better.

I did cut a hole for her too poop out of after this picture was taken...

This was her after an hour of being in her little sling. It didn't last long and she was back to falling over.

Her sisters cuddling with her...

TMNfarm is home to 10 horses, 2 Nigerian Dwarf goats, 3 Royal Palm turkeys, 4 cats, 7 dogs, 1 bunny, a guinea pig, a box turtle, a Russian tortoise, 11 ducks (so far), and too many chickens and roosters to count!! Oh... And 3 human children, plus me!!

Did you get nailed by the spammers on here last night? I was jumping between here & AmyLynn's thread & noticed that my "Previous Thread" box was showing a bunch of nonsensical garbage soon after I left here. Was afraid to come back here til it cleared up; didn't know what it might do to my 'puter, which is screwed up enough already.

@Sally Sunshine What do you think of Brahma hens as broodies/mamas?
I'm looking for a breed with better-than-average dependability to brood & raise little ones in my small flock of Red Sex-link/mutts; don't really relish the idea of having to house little ones separately 'til they're big enough to fend for themselves with the grown-ups.

I've compiled a list of breeds that should fill the bill...Ravyn told me you'd be the one to ask about Brahmas.

I don't think so.

: I have tried and failed however I tried moving them. They don't like that

Hi, all. Just wanted to introduce myself. I recently bought a Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance. It is sitting in the box, and I haven't decided if I should use it now, or wait for warmer weather. I'm leaning towards now, so they can be of laying age by Spring. I have never incubated eggs before, but I have been researching like crazy for the last several months. I'm sure I will be here for some hand holding at times.

I am in west Texas, and I currently have 17 chickens. RIR, RIW, Leghorn, Orps, Silkie, Australorp, BCM roo, etc. My first and main flock was killed about a month ago, so I am working on rebuilding it. The survivors of my main flock are 25 weeks, and I have yet to get an egg. I will not be surprised if I don't get any until Spring. 4 are hens that were found hiding around a pumpjack in the middle of nowhere. No idea how old they are. 3 were dumped at the shelter after their owner abandoned them when they moved. No idea on age.

Alright, I had to adopted/buy 2 chicks for my "lone wolf" d'uccle, I found some sexlinks, I HATE THEM. They are the messiest chicks I have ever encountered. Feed EVERYWHERE! Once I am able to hatch some more friends for my little D'Uccle man, they are out of there.

Looks like you've taken Chicken Math 101 already.
