You have heavy cable & something to put tension on it with? We use them to drop trees all the time in ticklish places.
Yeah, I have cable, log chains and come-a-longs.
Good plan.

Thanks, I have a black too, but with two blue hens and a lot of RIR waiting for him I am leaning towards a blue.

The broody ended up with the two chicks, and one that didn't hatch. The others were duds, but given the fact that my cockerels were only four months old and only out with the hens that had only been laying a month for a couple of hours a week I was not surprised.

How did yours end up?
I have 6, two month old penedesenca cockerels when you're ready for one.

Quote: If you can get on the roof & put the cable as high as you can reach, & anchor the other end around another big tree, you're in like Flynn, if the heaviest limbs are away from the house. We've dropped trees that an 18" saw wouldn't reach through & never had a problem, except a widow maker or two that we took care of.

I don't know why they make you sick but try making them with a dab of horseradish sauce and you won't be able to stop eating them.

That sounds amazing! It's not necessarily deviled eggs but boiled eggs that make me sick. Cooked any other way, I'm golden. Boil them and I'll pay for eating it. No idea why, and wasn't a problem until my twenties.

She did fairly well. 6 out of 13.
