@Sally Sunshine - When should I peek at the eggs, to see if they need help. Part of me is worried if I wait to long, they'll die... but I also don't want to disturb them. With the air sacs, being more on the side, then straight up, and saddled, I'm worried the baby's won't be able to get into them correctly.

Any suggestions? Since I only had 2 in there, I'd really like to avoid losing them both if possible. I never worried about my last egg like this, but it's air sac was normal.

Good Morning all

I'm still struggling with this sinus infection stuff, feel like it's moving into my chest. Yuck.

At work, with the motivation of a salted slug on a hot sidewalk.

I don't ever assist and I'm not certain when Sally will be back online so maybe someone that has assisted can help you.

Do you have the eggs positioned so the aircell is at the top? Also, you said you are on day 20, if these are LF this would be too early.

How are the ducks doing? You recovered from your drive?

Yup.... It's only a six hour drive but the old body doesn't like to sit still that long anymore.... Ducks are doing good.... A few of them are molting so they look a mess.
Morning Phil
Just another day at the office for me. Well it will be once I get started

I do, because of the quality of the air cell, from day 14-18 I turned upright, then went into lock down with them up right in a carton with the bottom cut out for air flow. (It's a paper one, too.)

My last one had signs of hatching by day 20. I know cochins are known for hatching around late day 20, so it made sense for him to be born half way between 20-21. I'm not sure about silkies. I've heard some people say they come around day 20 and some say they come late.

The temps been warm in there, I ran it around 101-102, and turned it down to 99.6-100.6 for hatching with about 72% humidity so I wouldn't have to open it up to add more water.
