ChickenLady2014 aka Lisa EHAL ~ Day 7 candling results all 17 CCL are fertile, 2 might have a early blood ring started, will recheck day 14. My 4 contributed eggs not fertile, so my total is 17/21 day 7. Oh almost forgot, fired up my hatching bator last night & set some test eggs for fertility of my Silkies & SFH. And had more Icelandic to go in. So I have 8 Icelandic, 4 EE mixes, 4 SFH & 12 Silkie eggs for a total of 28 set on 3/9/16 pm. Keeping fingers crossed that my Silkies have finally gotten back up to speed after all of their broodiness. These will be a challenge for the next week until my first bator goes into lockdown. This one doesn't have a fan & my 3rd hygrometer doesn't work well, but it will be, what it will be, lol.Started with 23 eggs, 7 were infertile at day 7 candling as well as 1 early death. Still had 15 eggs cooking on day 14. Came up on day 18 and most looked good, but had a couple that were a little iffy, but I left them in. Day 21 12 hatched, 3 were DIS in shell, late death, no internal pip & shrink wrapped. Hatched 12/15 Campingshaws broody results: she had 7 eggs. (Long story on that.) After three hatched she jumped the nest. There were four eggs left: a zipper died (got too cold I think), a dud, and the last two hatched in the bator. I'm going to try to slip them under her tonight. This is my last hatching update until after Easter, when I might be getting some isbar eggs. I started incubating my first batch of 21 eggs 4 days ago. 9 of them are shipped eggs and wouldn't ya know it, our electricity has gone off twice now and a blizzard hit after weeks of 60 degree weather. I kept a quilt over the incubator and it only lost heat down to 84.9 degrees and the humidity climbed to 65 each time. I just couldn't believe what happened! Well, I got my meds today for my sick birds. I think I may be too late for my boy though. I went to check on him this morning and he didn't want to open his eyes. By the time the meds got here (late afternoon) he had clear mucus coming up out of his mouth. I've got him on sugar water, the Albon, and grower crumble that I've mixed with water so it's soft and will help hydrate him should he eat it.

Abaout feeding chicks that exactley what I have said, as soon as they get excess to food and water is for the best! I never let them wate more than 10-15 ours!

Woke this morning to a new chickie in the hatch bator, it was already pipped when I went to candle late last night for lockdown
Day 19 this morning, and one out, one pipped and the rest rocking and rolling

Afternoon folks! Doing housework before going to the other job that I still have to finish out my week. Yesterday I was a bit down but today looks to be much better. And if you have a orange flowers extract it is wonderful

put the water in the pot, (you should know how manny cup of water you have!)
Add the leaf and let it boiled, after the water is boiling take it out of the fire add one full teaspoon( if you like it strong, like me, add a tablespoon) of coffee to every cup of water, add the sugar as you like and if you have the orange flower extract add 2-3 drops not more! Give it a good Stir and put back to the fire, when the coffee is coming up ( it happens very fast!) take it from the fire and drink !

I'm sorry I skipped ahead...but something real bad just happened to me...I'm typing between tears.
Few hours ago.....I went down to the store to say hi to my wife.
I found here laying on the floor getting up....I asked her what was wrong.....she said she fell......she was getting up....holding her head.
She was wobbling......she went back down....she was laying there eyes wide open unresponsive...I slapped her face...shook here yelled...nothing.
Dead...she looked dead....she finally came out of it...I was screaming at her co workers for help......and they finally called an ambulance.......she refused help.....even when she couldn't remember what year it was.....she said it was 2005.
They did look her over....and recommended she go to the hospital....she refused. She hit her head on the floor as now there is a big lump on the back of her head.....I'm so mad that she won't go to the ER.
I really have no way to make her.....she went back to work....

I did a copy and paste.....from my post yesterday to let everyone know where ive been and how I was doing....my wife did make an appointment to see a dr this week.

@daxigait I put my feeders in a bigger plastic dish and it seems to catch much of the feed, just short rimmed about an inch or two high depending on age sorry no pics right now

I didnt see if if you did give me a complete update instead of pcs I need to sit down and work on like a puzzle on the table? I have alot of reading on all these threads and I cant possible catch everything and have time to piece it all together!! so if you would be so kind as to WRITE OUT YOUR FULL UPDATE IN ONE SPOT AND TAG ME I can catch it! Don't recall who is doing the hatch updates but....

candled day 18, found a very early external pip!
3 leghorn, 4 EE, and 5 Columbian Rocks made it to lock down.
1 Columbian Rock questionable, but left in bator.
Removed 2 Leghorn early quitters.

Early pip (CR) hatched this morning, day 20! Three more external pip this morning!
