Good morning all! Sad funerals, awesome camping, great recipes for camping! Lots going on this morning. I'm sorry MC, I hope today gets easier for you.

Well, my traveling eggs have arrived. Just 1 day late. 3600 or so miles out of their way, they are here. I have 2 boxes at the PO, I'm waiting till they open. The nice lady from the PO called to tell me they had the packages. I asked why they BOTH went through the Kent, WA post office, but ONE came straight here and the other went to AL first. She asked me "why did it go to AL?".....

Well, in 30 minutes or so I will see how bad the extra traveling treated the box of eggs. Is it bad that I am hoping for oozing?

Yes, it's bad to hope for that if they're rare breeds.
Take a camera.

Ok, I picked up both boxes. The PO could offer no explanation on why. The guy is really nice there and he said there really is no recourse, since it's not lost, or damaged. But the shipper needs to file

Both boxes went through Kent, WA. The second box has half dark eggs I can't see in, and have light colored. The air cells are SERIOUSLY saddled and/ or ruptured. The AL box had dark eggs. There was one I could clearly see the air cell floating freely. So, at least 1 detached A/C. The rest, I need to wait until night time. I just don't have a dark enough room to candle these dark eggs.

I will give them all a chance - let's see what happens!!

That sucks! Be sure to let them rest (upright) for 24-36 hours. If you're lucky the cells will reattach and they'll be fine. Badly saddled eggs should also be incubated in an upright position. Best of luck with them!!! :fl

Why were you hoping for ooze? So that it would leave a mess or for insurance claims?

Yes, just from a claim standpoint. I was thinking that this box traveled an extra 3600 miles, which means either extra bouncing around in a truck, or extra pressure/depressurization problems because of air travel, That can't be good for eggs. Not a big deal for books, or clothing. I already knew if there was no visible damage, I would have nothing to claim. If the eggs had broken and oozed, it would allow for us to claim damages.

Turns out the box was only slightly dented, and no eggs were cracked that I can tell. One egg was wet, not sticky - I candled it and don't see any cracks. Not sure why it was wet.

I am going to think positive from now on and hope for the best!!

@Chaos18

I ain't believing this crap.!!!!!
After spending 3 days getting the mower to start, I throw a drive belt.
Got a new belt, fought 2 hours getting the @#$% thing on
Now the freaking engine won't start again...NOTHING...just like before.
