Chicken laid down and hasn't gotten up?

Help please? About 3 days ago one of my chickens laid down and hasn't gotten up. She hasn't laid any eggs and is barely eating. When I go near her she make a high- pitched sound and her feathers stand up. She stood up once today when I was hand feeding her boiled corn but she laid right back down. She's about 7 months old and I only brought her a month ago. What might be wrong with her? What do I do?

Personally I would get her to a vet or at least call and see what they thing, i had a hen go down a few months ago, we determined the best thing for her would be to euthanise her. I hope that's not your case but sometimes it's better to end their suffering before they die of starvation or dehydration.
Hopefully someone more experienced can be of more help

She sounds broody...!

Ruffled feathers and a high pitched sound are so typical of a broody...

Remove her from any nest and get her outside and she will likely begin to act normally...do NOT let her back inside for at least 40 minutes..ensure she eats and drinks before letting her settle back in the coop..
