The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

On the subject of 'diets' DH's friend has always had digestive issues as has his brother. His brother recently discovered why. They are allergic to the natural pesticides produced by plants. So they now eat meat, eggs and dairy and have never felt better.
I used to work with someone that was allergic to the natural sugars produced when food is cooked. She could essentially just drink tea, milk (cold only, preferably no pasteurized), juice, water & eat raw vegetables and sashimi.

Wow! I bet she had beautiful skin and hair!

@The Farmers' Daughter Michelle, are you here? How's the house coming along? And your job?

We need updates! :D
I'm finally here! :frow
Here's a recording I did earlier today

Job is ok. If they just let me prep I'd be fine. They call me over to the line (short order) when it gets super busy & I don't have a clue what I'm doing.

How's your house coming along?

Feeling awful today, migraine, nauseous, shaky/sometimes chills, etc., Excedrin this afternoon seemed to make things worse. Took Excedrin yesterday too but in the morning. Tried not to take it today which is why I didn’t take it until the afternoon but I think that made it worse. But anyway, did still manage to clean their house. Vacuumed and shook entry mats out, Frank hair was everywhere and didn’t want to leave it like that for them, then when I was finishing cleaning and putting away my last few dishes (they don’t have a dishwasher), I got carried away cleaning the kitchen lol wiped countertops/got some old food spots off them, wiped stove and hood, cleaned/wiped sink, cleaned dish drying rack, took out trash, made my bed, etc. etc. once I got going, couldn’t stop lol so I did manage to work through the pain and actually once I started cleaning I did feel somewhat better in the moment, finished cleaning around 7pm, and had vacuumed around 1030am. WantAnyway, now feel bad again tonight and my face was hot and red for a while, possibly from the pizza for dinner and the carbs, joints don’t hurt but notice my face gets hot with some carbs too, I should not have eaten it yes, but dad offered, and I cleaned for hours today and was exhausted so it was easy. Ate healthy all weekend except today. But anyway, I think I am just a little burnt out. I love the dogs and it was fun and I liked being independent but I was starting to get sick before I went over there (but the fruit and elderberry syrup binge seems to have halted that lol though still not 100% perfect) and then yesterday I took the dogs on massive walks, took Frank just on a normal half hour walk around the neighborhood, probably half the time without the sniffing detours I give them or training during them and walk, but anyway, was out in cold and wind that long, was windy on the water, but then I took Libby on a huge walk. I stayed home for maybe an hour and a half first but then we finally went on this almost 45 minute, 2.03 mile walk like the one I did last time, same route except from their house instead of ours and theirs is slightly further away so it was slightly over 2 miles instead of slightly under like mine, and anyway, she loved it, took her cause I had this theory that I thought it would tire her out more because she is so in shape and used to the half hour walk now that it really doesn’t do much, so wanted to try this. And it did work, she slept for 3 hours straight afterwards lol but anyway, I probably should have just taken them together and/or tested it on another day. It was like 24 yesterday and with the wind factor it was probably colder. I had a coat, hat, and gloves on, but no face mask and was colder than expected and pants were not that warm. I tried to pull my coat over my face some of the walk (one of those high zipper ones), but it wouldn’t really stay so most of the walk it was down. And today all around my lips is white/crusty and weird and I didn’t know why but my dad thinks possibly wind burn from the walk which I hadn’t even thought of. So anyway, long story short, I think I just totally wore myself out with that long walk considering I almost never exercise and then how freaking COLD it was yesterday which probably burned way more energy and having to take care of the dogs and I getting up at 6:30 every morning instead of 10:30 or 11, I think I am just not used to it and already was on the verge of getting sick without walking 3+ miles (both walks) in 24 or lower degree weather, plus playing with them outside all weekend. I did get to watch Netflix for 3 hours yesterday while they were sleeping and rest up which was good but still not enough I don’t think. I think I just never really do anything and then when I DO do something, I go way over the top and want to do it perfectly and overwork myself. I mean, they said the house was cleaner than when they left lol and the house wasn’t even messy or dirty, I just really cleaned/scrubbed, and I doubt they would have taken her on that long of a walk in that cold of weather (and they should not have, it was stupid and nobody was out, nothing bad against them, they’re great owners), but I think I just sometimes overdo when I do stuff and/or care too much about doing great work and being perfect. So now I think I probably am either getting sick or maybe probably but hopefully not could have pneumonia or bronchitis or something. I will wait and see but I think a hot shower and going to bed early will hopefully help. I was supposed to work tomorrow too but then she asked if I wanted to take tomorrow off and do Tuesday instead since she thinks she will need me more that day anyway so I said sure so good news is I get to relax and sleep in and maybe I will feel better tomorrow. I do still have another meeting tomorrow but that’s not until 4:30. But anyway, in addition to the migraine, my hands/knuckles are all bloody and on the underside, like palm, of one finger, I have a pretty big crack or something, I initially thought I had something in it as it wasn’t really cracked yet but was painful, but now idk if I do or not. I did put lotion on my hands last night but it is so cold out and I have washed them so much today that now they are bloody again so my hands are really painful too and of course the wind chapped lips, can barely even yawn/open them. :hit but I am going to put a lot of hand lotion on my hands tonight and either chapstick, Vaseline, or maybe just coconut oil on my lips, so these are all fairly easily fixable problems, but I couldn’t put anything on them earlier cause I was cleaning. But now I get to relax, worked from Friday evening, all day yesterday, to tonight around 7:15, so am exhausted and sore and way overworked myself but hoping the hot water will help me relax and the hand lotion and chapstick will hopefully make my hands and lips a whole lot less painful, and maybe the early sleep will do me good. Not really so early now though as have gotten distracted numerous times but still relatively early. Not feeling quite as sick atm but still rather sore.

OH! AND! I got glass or something stuck in my foot earlier today too which is still there and still painful so I’ve been trying not to put my heel down, which come to think of it could be part of why my legs are more sore all of a sudden. And the dogs eating my Bible. Apparently not my day lol

Hope you feel better soon @KDOGG331. Harsh chemicals (even the ones in liquid soap) can make your hands and knuckles crack and bleed in winter. That used to happen to me until I switched to a very mild bar soap.

Our real estate agent rang last Thursday to see if we'd got the council certificate we need. DH went out to the council to pick it up and just about died when they said how much we had to pay - nearly a GRAND! Paying out for that has made things extremely tight, but banks won't lend without one so if we want to sell we need it. He texted the agent to let him know and we are still waiting for a response.

DH knows a different agent through his work (he's a customer that DH has helped out before). He'd said to let him know if we needed some help so DH contacted him and he organised for an agent out this way (she lives in the next street over) to meet with us. She's absolutely lovely, thinks our place is worth what we want for it, unlike our current agent who seemed disappointed we didn't accept a much lower offer. She's coming round tomorrow night to give us her proposal. Hopefully she's going to get things moving in the right direction for us. :fl

Don't worry too much about doing the short order stuff at work Michelle, once you've done it a few times, you'll have it figured out. The main thing is to relax, getting nervous just makes it all harder.

I see lots of house progress since the last video! How tall are your ceilings in the house, they look really tall.

We're making progress but of course not as fast (or as inexpensively) as we would like. I thought DH was going to come unglued the other day when he talked to Home Depot about our kitchen appliance delivery. We knew they were coming on Friday but he needed just a general idea on what time (like morning or afternoon). They said if we paid an extra $40 they would give us a delivery time. WHAT?! The more business we do with that store, the less impressed we are with them.

I'm not familiar with how things work in NZ Jae...do you have to have some certificate to sell your house? What's the purpose of that?

Sounds like you've found a more promising sales agent, hope that gets things moving along for you!
