The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi Sue!
We have a child that started about 6 weeks or so ago and has very explosive temper tantrums. One started yesterday with him not wanting to get into a stroller and go for a walk. I actually had to take the child next to him out for their safety. He was left behind with another teacher. Later that morning he rammed a toy baby buggy into another child and knocked him into a stack of chairs. I’m glad I had that hour to chill out while walking. He’s a very big kid that doesn’t know his strength. :hmm

Hi Debby, me too:)

Hi IM, you also!
That one sounds like a lot of work!

I've had children like that before and it is difficult at times 😞 Hope today is better :hugs Last year I had a child in class that looked like they could be in kindergarten and some of my real little 3year olds wouldn't go near him. By the end of the year everyone played with him and all worked out, but we had to work with the parents and child.
Usually they will get a bit closer in size over time too...unless the child is going to be a giant as an adult!

I've been going to bed way too late ( listening to some great songs on the music threads) and so I get up even later. Not much going on. Just raining every day so far - the yard has the finest crop of dandelions I've ever seen.

Luckily my area used to be a quarry, so rain just goes straight down. Sheltering at home isn't as much fun as I thought it would be. Miss the bus folks but, bus isn't going anywhere. Hope they are doing okay. Only one of them lives near a grocery store.

If I get the virus, it will be my brother that brings it too me. He is in the high risk category but he ignores that. He's been working at home, going out daily for lunch take out, looking in any stores that are allowed to be open.

Think he is going to retire in June - all his good buddies already have and some moved to other states. I think he's really going to go overboard once he has absolutely nothing to do.
Doing nothing isn't as easy as it sounds. Just ask me!

Our governor has declared everyone has to wear a face mask when out of their house. Think rain is gonna ruin most of them.

All costco stores are requiring masks now regardless of local ordinances

I hope the boy can learn how to handle his temper before someone gets hurt.

He’s pushed 2 kids down and had one tantrum so far. Several kids are scared of him. Mom said he has no issues at home, grandma said he does. Mom is trying to blame it on dad. She has a restraining order on him right now. Messed up family! He’s moving up to the preschool room on Monday. Maybe it will be a good change for him.

We have stuff we had to put up as he’s too big to sit on it. He’ll break it also cuz he’s so rough

Hopefully, being with bigger kids will help the situation. There may be a child that will put him in his place, I don't like to say that but I've seen it happen many times. I had a child last year that thought it was funny to just run up to another child and basically run them over. He never stopped, just ran right over them. When I did my home visit mom and dad both said they rough house with him, that's the only way they play. For the longest time nobody wanted to play with him. You know something is going on at home and mom just doesn't want to believe it about her child 😞 If they confront the issue it can get better.
