This is Cher and her 12 beautiful ducklings from last spring, she hatched them in my front yard. Sadly yesterday I lost her to a Careless driver in my neighborhood right in the middle of the day. Cher flew everywhere, she was such a smart duck, rarely did she walk in the street, but the one day she decides to cross the street in a quiet neighborhood she gets ran over. I'm so heartbroken, I cried all day. And I'm angry at people in my community, we have lakes all around us with ducks, swans, and geese that come into the neighborhoods, so why do people not pay attention, and drive fast? How do you not see a duck in the road?? I will miss little Cher, she was so sweet and such a perfect mother, I'm blessed she was in my life.
That person will never realize when he or she hit this little girl, so many lives were heartbroken, not only mine, but her mate now sits lonely down at the lake
I think humans are the worst predators !!!
