I called this morning about my unit not giving me accurate temp. readings. The engineering dept is sending me a replacement
part to fix the problem and that he will test it before sending it to me.

I have 2,you can not go by the readings on incubator,get a thermometer made for an incubator,they have plastic on bottom to place on eggs.I may have to have one on 104 to get 100 or 102 to get 99.EVERY TIME YOU OPEN INCUBATOR YOU MIGHT HAVE TO CHANGE SETTINGD,SOMETIMES I PLAY WITH MY ABOUT A HOUR,ONES IT THERE YOU ARE GOOD TO GO.THE DIGITAL THEROMENTER ON LITTLE GIANTS ARE FROM 2 TO 4 DEGREES OFF,SOMETIMES THEY ARE THE SAME
 
I GOTTA A COUPLE FROM MILLER,QHF AND ONE FEED STORE HAD ONE,I KEEP ABOUT 5,THEY ARE ACCURATE TO THE DEGREE
 
I GOT A REPLACEMENT FOR MINE ALSO DIDNT WORK,GET HATCHING THEROMENTER,DONT USE ONE FROM ANY OTHER SOURCE,HAD 3 DIFFERENT ONES AT SAME TIME ALL WERE OFF 2 TO 3 DEGREES,ONE WAS A BROODER THEROMENTER
 
I use a Brinsea Spot Check and a glass medical thermometer (the kind you stick under your tongue) in each of my LGs. I have an old 9200 and one of the new 9300s. The old one doesn't give a read out, but the newer 9300s read out is incredibly inaccurate. I have to set it around 103-104F to achieve 101.5. I'd never trust that thing, even if Miller sent me a new, tested one. When you're incubating, accurate thermometers and hygrometers are worth their weight in gold. Those 2 Spot Checks set me back about $20 each, and the glass thermometers were about $9 each. And they were worth every single penny, as they've dramatically improved my hatch rate. I'm saving those pennies to buy myself a Brinsea incubator next. They're products, that I've used so far, are top notch.

Re; Temp guage
Thanks to all for responding. I went to WLMART. Pro Bass Store, Ace Hardware, and a few other stores this morning and all I could find was one at Petco about 1/8 " thick flexible w/o stickems on the bottom. The only other ones I could find are the ones you nail on the wall!
I will look for the glass ones you put under the tongue at a medical supply store.
Where can I get a Hygrometer that can sit on
top of the eggs? My eggs are on an egg-turner. No one I mean no one! carries Hygrometers!! Where? can I get one?

Your hygrometer doesn't need to sit on top of the eggs. I got mine at Petsmart, from the reptile section. Petco should have them too.

I had to order my incubator thermometers online. The Spot Checks have a probe that can be fed through the small vent holes so the end of the probe sits at egg height and I tape the unit itself to the window on the outside of the incubator.

The only thing I found at petco was the reptile thermometer, the manager checked his computer and found no Hygrometers.
I will check Petsmart tomorrow morning.
I bought another thermometer a "Miller" at a feed store tonight. $5.30 including tax.

The Miller thermometer was calibrated with my home thermostat thermometer and it was spot on 68F/68F. I then placed it into my incub. checked an hour later it was spot on with the setting temp at 100F and Miller at 100F, But the indicator for current temp was 99,4F. Last night and tonight they were spot on again! So, it's a wait and see situation.
Humidity on the incub. shows 42% to 45%, have not checked Petsmart for the Hygrometer yet.
