here is what I would do.
it could take as little as 3 boards.........
2x6 trimmed to follow the slope of the roof, run down the side of the coop, following the metal.
2x4 to help hold the 2x6's. run perpendicular to the metal roof at the gate area or about mid way
attach metal roof to the 2x6's
attach hardware cloth to the chainlink via sewing with wire, and attach to the trimmed 2x6 with small steeples.
