Infection or Eyeworn

I agree, but I can assure you that the person doing it is quite experienced in treating fowl. :D

I would hope so! I was puckered up trying to do my procedure and I was only using tweezers and q-tips! I think the thought of cutting it open with a knife of that type and adding additional bacteria into it is what bothered me! Funny because I don't get bothered by much! But that did!

I am amazed at how fast they turn around from being healthy to sick and then healthy again!

I've seen a couple that with the opaque eyes regain sight, so there is a chance. Is there still pus in there?

hi kathy,
before I ask my questions I want to tell you that I admire you for your knowledge and helping people all over the world! although you are more medicine/chemical person and I am more a natural remedy one, I do use medicines when natural remedy cannot help.

here are my questions: I have 3 cases with eye problems.

#1 araucana pullet - she had yellow cheesy staff which I removed. swelling got down and she has been treated with antibiotic ointment for 6 days (2x day) and after that eye dropsmornings and ointment evenings for a few days (still treating). I gave all of them baytril in water for the first 6 days (1,2 ml/2l of water). for how long should I treat hem? here she is now:

#2 wyandotte pullet: I cleaned a yellow, almost dry gunk. there was some pus 2 days later, I cleaned it and it looks like pink eye now (it seems she might see again):

#3 a 3yo brahma: she was full of fleas when I rescued her. her comb was pale and her eyes half closed. looked like dehydrated. I put a powder for fleas, feed her grower feed and she looks better. but her eyes are still half closed:

do you have any experience with these?
