Great idea. I used these panels for my run roof. It has been great. My bantams don't like wind or rain.

Great idea. I used these panels for my run roof. It has been great. My bantams don't like wind or rain.
This is for the ice in their coop, you can put wood pellets over the ice and then cover that with wood shavings. I did that in my first coop when it rained so hard water ran under the walls inside the coop which had a concrete floor. They worked great, absorbed lots of water and dried quickly. One bag goes a long way and they're not expensive and my chicken didn't try to eat the wood pellets.

I am on my 3rd year for this plastic. It holds up well in the summer I just roll it up from the bottom and use zip ties to hold it from falling down that way I don't have to sort out which pieces fit where. I just roll it fown and put a few staples in. Takes no time at all.

I have air flow...to much I'm trying to rid of more cold air so they stay warm

Frostbite is caused by bellow freezing temps, not moisture or humidity... Moisture and humidity do drastically increase the risk of frostbite at moderate freezing temps (as does wind or drafts on exposed skin) and thus it's important to lower the humidity if possible to help alleviate that risk at the moderate freezing temps, but even with no humidity frostbite can happen as the temps drop further into the extremes even with no humidity...
