Post here if you're NOT having poultry for Thanksgiving

SMOM1976...yep, not far at all. I get to Pcola fairly often, especially to the beach during summer. Love the city.

I'm impressed at how many vegetarians are on here. I guess there is a common love for pets that leads into vegetarianism for that reason. Very cool!

Hey, ChickenBoo....what's in Arabian Fruit Salad? That sounds interesting! The roasted green beans with garlic sound really good, too!

Our contribution will be baked tofu, breaded and baked homemade gluten, barbecue homemade gluten. We get together with 4 families for thanksgiving, all but one are vegetarian. It makes for a wonderful Thanksgiving where everyone can eat everything, not just the potatoes (you poor dear!). Through the years my mother has made changes to Christmas dinner that have made it more inclusive to us veggies (our family makes up half the dinner party). The first year she made no changes and we were relegated to rolls, mashed potatoes and whatever protein option we would bring. Now she makes the dressing without meat bits, the sides no longer have bits of meat on them, and I make a delicious vegetarian gravy, and everything is just as good as it used to be. I truly appreciate all of the simple changes that have made the dinner much more inclusive.

We're having Vegetarian "turkey".

YUMMY!!!!! And it's really healthy, too. Proud to say that we aren't having ANY animals for Thanksgiving! (never have, never will)

Well, we didn't get to raise any turkeys this year-- our first in our house (nor did we get to hunt any--- didn't get our saftey course done so we could get hunting licenseses..) AND, I'm working, so not sure what the Thanksgiving plans will be. Might get a spiral ham for the week after. My work gave us turkey coupons- so I'll pick one up and throw it in the freezer for a later time. It's just the 2 of us- we're not traveling to be with family this holiday season-- a first in the nearly six years we've been together. We moved 350 miles from everyone, so it'll be different-- time to adopt some new traditions !
