Thanks for the encouragement on finding our cockerel a new home. A local feed store gave me a name of a woman who takes rooster. I spoke to her and found out she has over 1000 chickens and takes birds from families from time to time. When my family is ready to say goodbye to this bird, we will explore that option. I've also emailed a local 4-H coordinator and offered the bird to someone in their program. We'll see what unfolds.
