anyone tried this feeder?

It would also work if you cut the tops out of the bottles and use the lids of the buckets in the regular way. It would make for faster filling and work the same.

Took me a min to figurenout what your saying... but yes.. i get it... cut the bottom out ofnthe water jug, make it flush with the top of the bucket... and use a lid to the bucket... fill it way easier... thats the upgraded version... haha im going to make one or two as soon as i get a chance... see how they work...

And if you feed a 50lb bag of feed every day... you got way too much money and chickens..

Quote: True, but it just sort of happened, it's not that I planned things to get this out of hand.

Actually, we feed about a ton a month, so roughly 50lbs every 1.5 days. I feel much better having sorted that out.

I now have something to aspire to - think I need more chickens.

Been looking for one of those water bottles....7 gal bucket might be perfect height to increase capacity.
Agrees using bucket lid would be good solution.

I devised a similar no waste feeder, but it's a funnel with a trigger feeder-just enough capacity for a days feed for my flock, best part is they can't bill the feed out.
