Could I get some help from my fellow chicken people?

It's been awhile since I've visited BYC. Between work, kids, remodeling a home, etc., etc., it's been difficult for me to find some down time to even work on my favorite hobbies! I sure miss knitting!
Anyways, here's my current situation...we entered into a contest out of San Antonio. The local radio station is sponsoring an Ugliest Kitchen Contest and the winner will receive a $25,000 kitchen remodel from Giovanni's Kitchens and Baths. My issue with the contest is that it's voter based and I don't do well with voting contests. I don't have a huge friend's list on Facebook. I don't play Farmville or any other games via Facebook. And I can't stand Twitter. So we're left with pestering family, friends, and co-workers. Lol!
The contest will be ending Thursday evening. Winner to be announced sometime Friday. We feel that we have a real chance at winning this thing.
What we are asking for, pleading for, is for as many people as possible to vote for us every day through this Thursday. The site doesn't ask for your e-mail address. Just two clicks. Click on #5, which is my kitchen. Then click vote. That's it!

Thanks so much!! We knew that the house we bought was going to have to be completely remodeled. We didn't realize how bad it was until we actually got started on it, though! It's taken us 2 1/2 years just to do the garage! We are finally starting on the actual house and winning this thing would give us a huge boost towards completing this monster!

Lol, I feel your pain. My house needs gutted. Wish they had a contest here. Hope you win.

I voted, but frankly I'd kill for your old kitchen! This is mine.


This is the half we started work on. Money, time and energy gave out.


Looking toward the other half. So little cabinet and drawer space that we've added a bunch of free standing pantry type deals. The refrigerator, two more free standing panties are on the opposite wall. In the center is the table and chairs. Yeah, we've learned to walk sideways.


And just what in world would anyone do with all that abundant counter space?

LOL! And Thanks, Blooie! In the photo, my kitchen doesn't look horrible. It's definitely much roomier than most of the entrants. All the cabinets were made by the builder which are just like the rest of the house...not square and very wonky! I also think the builder used stuff he found or was given to him to build this place. The entire property here was completely trashed, too, and that's another reason it's taken so much time to finish the house. Rusty nails everywhere. Broken bottles. You can even see a huge pile of trash they had out here from a satellite image!! Yep. It's been a lot of work!

Well, I hope you win, and I'll make you a deal since you got my vote. Instead of pitching your old kitchen, wrap it up and UPS it to me.....those cabinets can't be any worse than the totally out of plumb frames with pasteboard fronts that I have. <sigh>
