Any guesses on this breed?

This guy showed up at my Mom's out of nowhere last year. No one within a few miles of her has chickens. He was obviously loose for awhile because he was pretty underweight. So after quarantine, he became a member of her flock, but we have no idea what he is. Any guesses?

this is no doubt a penedesenca. I know its a mouthful. it is native to Spain bred to be a back yard bird.
