awesome! I just ordered my chicks yesterday. I thought it would be nice to get more hens. as for tips I would recommend to use straw for bedding, DO NOT USE GOLDEN FIRE PELLETS two years ago one of my baby chicks swallowed one and died

. I would recommend buying the book chick days. Best chicken book I have ever owned. guides you day by day for the first six months. by the way what breeds did you get?

I do have that book, it is so helpful! And I ordered a Speckled Sussex, a Buff Orpington, and a Partridge Cochin. I was thinking about using pine shavings as a bedding, that will work to, right? Sorry about the chick!

About the pine shavings they will work. the reason I use straw is it is non toxic the can't swallow it and it is very easy to cleanup. both work great , more preference than anything. best of luck with your chicks when you get them send some pictures to my profile. hope this was helpful.
