Hi there and welcome to BYC

Great that you have joined us. If you have not done so yet, check out the Learning Centre - lots of great resources there, and also the Coops section as it may help you in your designing or choosing your coop. Thread searching is also a good way to research specific topics. Your state thread should put you in touch with other BYC members local to you also.

Good luck with your impending chicken adventure.

You have a lot of fun in store with getting your first chickens! I would recommend getting 3 instead of 2. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, you'll lose a bird and you don't want to be left with a single chicken. Chickens are flock animals and prefer company of their own kind, although some people do have a single bird as a house pet (there are threads on that if you care to search and read them).

What breed were you thinking of getting?

Good luck to you, if you have questions, always feel free to ask!
