Hello!
I'm using a Little Giant still air incubator with the egg turner. It is now day 18 and I'm concerned for the wellbeing of my chicks. Please tell me if if it is likely my eggs with not hatch.
-I candled the eggs 5 out of the 21 days (all healthy moving embryos)
-I'm using fertile chicken eggs from trader joe's refrigerator.
- Temp has been around 99.5- 101 the entire time.
- I have been placing water in the small water compartment at the bottom of the incubator every 3 days
- I do not have a humidity sensor, which sucks.
- I have kept one of the air circulation holes (out of two) open.
Here are the questions I have:
-When I place my chicks in lockdown, should i add more water to the bottom of the incubator every day? (this would mean i have to open the incubator)
-Should I remove all vent plugs (so far one is removed out of the two)
-Can the chicks stay for 24 hours after they are hatched in the 100 degree environment, or should i remove then as soon as they dry?
Thank you so much!
Sorry for poor grammar or hastiness, I want to get this post out so I get receive answers before I remove the eggs from the egg turner and place them into lock down in 6 hours!
