It's small yellow beans!?! I'm trying to find other vara rites cuz I'm running out of grain for my chicks. And I'm trying to look for things they like

I'd be concerned that what you are feeding them isn't balanced for the chicks. I would not feed what you have as their primary feed. Get some chick starter and keep this for treats only. You could go dig for worms and bugs for some protein and even add some oatmeal or such into your blend there. The BEST thing I've found to use for chicks if you are short on feed is to scramble up some eggs until you get to the store. After all, they have everything a chick needs to thrive already in them.

I would be concerned about a few things. One those swelling after they were ingested, two, the birds getting VERY sick from lack of vitamins and nutrition and minerals. I've had deficiency in my flock and it's AWFUL. You are A LOT BETTER OFF FEEDING A BALANCED CHICK STARTER FEED. you can get this food at most feed stores, tractor supply stores or online. it is NOT expensive for a large bag. this way you know that you are feeding a COMPLETE meal with a perfect balance of vitamin, mineral, amino acids, and all they need to grow healthy. you can NOT get the nutrients they need from a few seeds it MUST be balanced! PLEASE listen to my warning. Vitamin defiencys can render them unable to walk and even cause death. you start with the feed called Chick starter then when they get older and begin to lay get Layer feed. I really hope this helps you out.

Thank you everyone for your help!! I will consider feeding my chicks better!! Thank you so much!!
