Goats!!!

There is just one now

They were born in April and after we had weaned them we put the baby girl in with the mama and the boy in with our big buckling.
They just started getting scrawny but we didn't pay very much attention to them (so it was probably our fault)

my younger sibling noticed it and then fed them a buch of chicken feed so they started going diarrheah all over the place. We have been feeding them on plants, tree leaves and regular goat feed .
You should be feeding them good hay in addition to everything else. As for your sick goats at this point they will either get over it or they won't. You have two things going on. The excess grain produces lactic acid in the rumen. It can also cause a proliferation of clostridium perfingens which causes enterotoxemia. If they were my goats I would get some clostridium perfingens antitoxin and administer it ASAP. The kids will also need an anti acid. I think you need to call the vet.

Call the vet immediately. My vet when she was here with my goat for there last checkup said they weigh a perfect weight! I only feed mine Timothy grass and I throw some branches in there inclosure and they eat those and they eat grass and weeds. You only give them grain for show or for milking as a treat. And make sure your younger brother does not do that again to any other animals other then chickens. Chickens have a much different food need then goats.
Please keep us updated!!

Will try.
I have been trying to feed them hay but they just don't use it
Not sure we can call a vet...i know it may seem mean but we don't have enough money to spend on a male goat :(
Than stop feeding all grains, and add a dish of baking soda, he will either make it or not at this point.

They will eat hay or grass, they won't starve to death. Two years ago I got two doe raised kids that were wild and refused to eat any grain. They did fine. Young goats are thin looking and won't fill out until about two years old.

I'm sorry there is nothing you can do for him. Do you leave hay out all the time? They may feel uncomfortable if you stand there and give it to them. I would just try to make him comfortable now.

Anyone raise kinders? I've been researching them for over a year now and I really want to get some this fall! My questions to kinder owners is what advice would you give me before getting into kinders? is there things I should know that I probly haven't read? Is Thier milk really as sweet and high in butterfat as I've read? How much do you typically get per day in freshening? Do they really dress out 60% carcass? How's the meat? Would you if given the choice keep a kinder or another goat breed instead? Snd why? I choose kinders because the back of my property is only 3 acres, kinders stay small you can have more per acre than most goats, they are also a dual purpoae breed who can have multiple births and go into freshning twice a year, thats a plus all the way around! The milk is supose to be sweet and non gamey, i had goats milk once dont know what kind but yuck! On the other hand me and my daughter have severe tummy issues and it's suppose to help, also they are suppose to dress out nicely and be good meat but Noone has any around me to try , I can read about it all day online but you know how that goes, any advise is welcoming, thanks!

Well if you want goat that is big in butterfat nigerian dwarf goats are the way to go. And they are also great with small space such as pygmy. I haven't have kinder goats I was going to. I read they have great meat. Although I could never eat mine. But everyone has different opinions.
