Hi all. I posted a while back about a limping hen. Well I finally took her to the vet about a month ago and it's not broken. She was put on metacam for a while to get the swelling in her joint down. That worked. It's only slightly bigger than the other one now. The vet said that there is not much more we can do for her and she's going to have to figure it out on her own at this point. She is still not walking on her leg and it's been 2 months now. I want to get her back out with the rest of the girls but they pick on her because she is hurt. I am still giving her aspirin daily to try and get the rest of the joint or pain healed up. But does anyone have any other suggestions to get her walking on both legs again? The husband and I are both ready to get this lady out of the basement and back outside.

Oh, and she just started laying eggs again a few days ago after not laying since she first got hirt. I'm taking that as a good sign?!

Am I just getting impatient and need to let her heal longer?
Thanks in advance!

I had an issue like this, but I don't think an injury caused it in my chicken. I fed her raw beef liver and within 2 days she was good as new. What was her injury?

We're not sure. She just came out limping one morning and it progressively went to not walking on it at all. The vet couldn't really see anything wrong on the xray either
