Just wanted to share my nesting boxes I built.

I have 36 hens and 4 roosters. I didn't plan to have to many roosters, 1 was missexed, 2 was ordered and 1 was a free chick from McMurray. I will be starting another 25-30 hens in about a week and half, 15 turkin hens and 10-15 ISA Browns. So 70 chickens total with replacing half the flock out per year to have a consistent flow of eggs to sell.

I am being given a 3 month old great pyrenees which I will train to become a livestock dog to protect the chickens so I can let them free range. I pick the dog up in 4 days and will start to work on training the dog. So I will see how that goes.

One of my barns has 3 attached stalls, I turned one and a storage room next to it into a chicken coop, the coop is 11x20 but I let them run in the other two stalls as well, I never measured what those are. Just today I took new pics of my set up. The green storm door is the beginning of the coop where I have 16 nesting boxes, 2 separate roosting ladder posts, 2 30lb feeders and a 8 gal double walled waterer, in the winter I had a heater and a 250w heat lamp to warm the coop and also keep the waterer from freezing.

After so much reading on LGD's I have decided I can make this work, next week my shipment of baby turkins comes in, I will be adding 15 ISA Browns and 4 male Keets (Baby Guinea) to the order if I can. I still need to fence in my back lot attached to the barn but once I do then I will end up with 66 hens 4 roosters, 4 male Guineas all free ranging being watched and guarded by the Great Pyreness, I think I'm going a bit over board with chickens lol but I do plan to sell eggs and don't want to run out
