Hi, new to the backyard chickens community but I have been reading post for a while. My story is that I am a first time duck owner and have 2 female Peckin duck about 6 months now. They are from the same brood. The problem is only one is laying eggs and the other isn't. I have looked everywhere cause I know they are prone to hiding them but I don't see anything. I wouldn't be as concerned but they were born the same time so I figured they should start at the same. Is this something I should be concerned with?

I wouldn't be too concerned. My duck stared laying about 5 months. She will probably start soon. Are you sure that she's a female?

@brookesducksI mean I'm only basing it on the fact that she doesn't have the curled tail feather that I heard the males have. And she does quack, but thats about it. Im not sure on how to check their vent.

Hmmm she will probably start. How old is she?

It could also possibly be the weather and time of year.I real that ducks will start when the days lenghten and it warms up in the spring.also its normal for a duck to start laying 6-8 months old.
