Hi everyone. My husband Bill and I have been raising chickens for a few years now. We live in west Virginia. We have our first incubator running. We are on day 14 now. Very excited for the newnew babies to arrive. We also have guinneas a couple turkeys and we also have a loft where we have homing pigeons

Sending good hatching vibes your way

I just saw the note on the ovation you left me (thanks for that!)...what do you need help with? Either one of us may be able to help you or we could point you to the correct forum.

I have hatched out 3 chickens for the first time. I had 1 pass away lastnight. So sad. How can I get them to eat and drink? I very been putting their beaks in the food and water .but they still wont.eat or.drink

It's a couple months later but you may still need an answer.

If you raise a few chicks with your turkeys they will learn to eat and drink for the chicks.

Turkey poults are not very smart so they need to be taught to eat either by you or by another chick (Turkey or Chicken).

I raised 6 chicks with my 9 bourbon reds this year and only lost one. And it was because it got stuck not because it didn't eat or drink.

Anyway I hope you are able to raise happy healthy birds.
