That's a neat idea with the bucket. How old are they in this pic? Maybe 3 weeks old? I have a bucket I could use to do that and I can put the galvanized cage right up to the large run so they see each other
 
I think they were about 3 days old, I don't get my chicks until the end of May or June, this was about June 10 of last year, so the temperature was probably close to 80's, I force myself to wait to get my chicks, it's easier on me and better for my chicks.
