Help. I think my chick has wry syndrome and it also has a swollen vent.

Hello!
I posted earlier this morning about my chick whom I'd estimate to be about three weeks old. We got it from a hatchery a week ago from today.
This morning we found this chick laid out with its neck twisted, and its feet outright, although the chick does have control over it its feet.
The chick cannot stand up, or hold its neck upright so we have been syringe feeding it Vitamin B, Selenium, and Pedilyte. We just went and checked on our chick and earlier it seemed that she might be doing better, but now she has a swollen vent. She hasn't used the bathroom since we found her today around 5:30 a.m. Is it possible she is constipated? Is there anything we can do for her? The vent is still functioning though.

Can you post a picture of the vent?
Wry neck can be treated with Vitamin E and Selenium.
Is she eating? What are you feeding her?
Can she stand up at all?
You want to keep her hydrated well with the vitamin water, you can also give her wet chick starter, hardboiled/scrambled egg or tuna
The swollen vent may be due to not enough liquids. Has she been having normal poop? If it is really swollen you can put a small dab of hemorrhoid cream on the vent to help reduce the swelling to see if that helps.

Thank you! This morning the vent is no longer swollen. Maybe it is because we've been pushing fluids into the chick, whom we are calling "Nemo" all day yesterday, and also woke up a couple of times last night to push more fluids into it.

It is able to move its neck a little bit more this morning. It still cannot stand up though. It is not eating anything solid at the moment. We are mainly pushing a mixture of pedialyte, selenium, vitamin E, and herbs from our garden that have a great source of Vitamin E. It is staying awake through its feedings now. It used to constantly fall asleep. We are hoping that these are all good signs and that it is on the mend. Nemo is a fighter. It wants to live. I think Nemo also knows we are doing our very best to try to help. I also had some prednisone pills and saw that some people had great results using prednisone, so we are using a very small dosage (about 1mg) twice a day.

We really think it is Wry Neck and not the other illness. It's just its neck that spazzes sometimes. Not the wings, and it has full control of its feet.

Pushing fluids is good. Try to get Nemo to eat watered down chick starter, mashed egg, etc. Some people do use a syringe to help with the feeding or even tube feed their babies. He definitely needs his protein which is in the food.

Thank you. Right now, it is unable to eat solid foods. We are going to try to put some of its feed into a food processor to get it to go into a syringe. Do you know of any other supplements we can get for it, to give it more Protein?

Poultry Nutri-drench has vitamin E, Selenium, plus othe vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, and amino acids. Poultry Cell is another that does. Dosage is 1 ml daily by mouth. A good mix of plain yogurt, raw egg, and chick crumbles mixed together and thinned with water or electrolytes is good. Tube feeding is possible. There is a good thread to look for in the search box above called "go team tube feeding."

Another thing you could try is Katee baby bird hand feeding formula. It's a powder you mix with water made for feeding parrots and such but it's great for chickens who can't eat solid food. It runs through a syringe really easy. You can get it at most pet stores.

Thanks y'all. We boiled an egg last night, and made it liquidy so Nemo was able to eat it. Would a raw egg be better though?

We will look into those formulas.
