1 1/2 month old chicks have diarrhea

i have 7 chicks and some of them are having orange-brown runny poop. I have given them cantaloupe yesterday but not a lot. And collard greens today but the runny poop started 4 days ago. I thought it would clear up so i waited but they are still having it. Any suggestions on how to help fix it? Do i need to add a probiotic like yogurt or something ?

You might want to treat for coccidiosis. You can get Cordid at a feed store. Just follow the directions on the bottle. I would treat all your chickens.

Can you post photos - of the poo, your brooder setup and the chicks??
Are you feeding chick starter as well?
Do they have grit?
How old are they?
What temperature is your brooder?

It could be Cocci, so you may want to treat all of your chicks>
Dosage for Cocci is 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder per gallon or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon
Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period. Mix a fresh batch at least once a day.

Are you feeding chick starter as well? Yes i am feeding the starter / grower it is always available i will upload a picture

Do they have grit? they do i mix it with their food. it is always available

How old are they? they are about a month and a half, closer to 2 months.

What temperature is your brooder? im not sure what temp it is, i dont have a thermometer, they arent using a light because they have all their feathers, but they are in my house with no draft and my house is 75, 76

It looks like normal cecal poo to me, but someone else may have a different thought.
About every 8-10 droppings will be a "normal" poo,then they will have stinky brown(ish) sticky poo which is cecal poo which is also normal.
Looks like they are feathering out nicely, won't be long before they can venture outside

I agree with @Wyorp Rock ... Most likely cecal poops.

I'd go ahead and have some Corid on hand, though... You never know when you might need it!!

Thank you so much for your help! i just got the notification for your reply, thats why it took so long for me to answer lol. also they are now outside and the cecal poo has seemed to slow down

I will also be looking to get corid soon just to have it if needed. what other medications should i stock up on ?

Your chickens will have a greasy, mustard/tar/chocolate colored cecal poop about every 8 to 10 poops... Totally normal! If you see any BUBBLES in them, that can indicate cecal worms, which require treatment.

Grab some Corid (for Coccidiosis), Valbazen (wormer), Sav-A-Chick (vitamins/minerals), vet wrap (wound care), BluKote or iodine (wound care), syringes (oral administration of wormer/meds), needles (injections), latex gloves (for YOUR safety), Neosporin (wound care), and chlorhexidine (Walgreens, by the hydrogen peroxide, or you can order a gallon online - wound care).

You might also consider getting Tylan 50 (antibiotic) and TerraVet water soluble powder (antibiotic) for any one that comes up snotty with bubbly eyes or foul smelling.... I hope it never happens!!

Monistat can be used to treat sour crop, and Lotrimin can be used to treat fungal growths like Favus.

These are a few the things I have slowly acquired over time. And let me tell you, it's better to have it BEFORE you need it!!!!! It really stinks to have a sick chicken in desperate need of something just after Tractor Supply closes.
