May have an egg bound hen but not sure?!

I have a hen who is about 1.5 years old maybe 2. About two weeks ago we noticed she was acting weird (she has always been shy but) she would for the most part stay by herself while out free ranging and just stand around a lot. We also noticed a large amount of poo stuck to her bottom feathers/near her vent. We cleaned the feathers and area hoping that was what was wrong but now i have noticed she is walking around with her tail down and is walking slowly. Other things i have noticed are her abdominal area looks a bit swollen and her comb looks extra droopy. She looks pretty miserable. Does this sound like she might be egg bound? How can i tell?

I had the same issue...noticed her looking egg bound (feathers puffed and isolated standing around) yesterday and immediately gave her a warm bath, Nutri-drench and isolated her in a dark quiet spot. She passed away today. Yesterday I also noticed another one acting similar, not as severe, and isolated her as well. She is ok so far, no egg but curious droppings (like a mouse pellet look mixed in it). But now this evening two chickens that are still with the flock are standing with their tails low, one almost drops her hind end as she walks/waddles, but both laid eggs today so I don't believe it to be egg binding. But something is going on. I don't mean to hijack your question, but they seem similar in symptoms... I want to be sure that if it needs to be treated, I treat it! (all are on Nutrena layer pellets, get ACV in their water, oyster shell free choice and free range a few hours a day).

It has been quite awhile since they have been wormed. Can you suggest a good wormer/ do you think it might make her better?

Mine got their last round of Zyfend drops (natural dewormer) for a week beginning 3/3.

Zyfend is designed to treat the problems caused by worms, it is not designed to kill the worms.

Since you have had a hen die, and several others are showing the same symptoms, you need to get a fecal sample to determine if they have worms.

That is an excellent idea to have a fecal check done on the flock and if you lose another one, have a veterinarian conduct a necropsy. That way you know what you have to target to get the other back to full health!
