I have two different breeds of chick I want to get but one is available now and the other wont be available for a couple weeks. is that too far apart to have in the brooder together?
is a 2 week age difference too much?

Hasn't been for me. The standards did pick on the banties so I had to separate, but otherwise I have a two week span and there were no issues.

I do recommend providing a distraction when you add them together. Maybe a tunnel to run through, marbles to kick around, or a bird toy to peck at. Makes the new additions a lot less interesting.

thanks, I have a little mirror and I can add a new shelf easily enough
