Homeade incubator temperature

I have a 23 watt bulb in a homeade incubator that I'm wanting to use as a hatcher and the temp is staying to high with lid closed all the way.should I try a lower watt bulb? I can't find a 20 watt bulb..I found a 15 watt one but haven't gotten one..this is a smaller styrofoam cooler or should I get a larger cooler

You could use a dimmerswitch. . Make sure you get one that will run lower watts. They have them... Some of the cheaper dimmer switches take 40 watts to run.. so get one that will still operate at low watts
