We have 4 week old (just turned 4 wks) Rhode Island Reds, production pullets. The chances of a cockerel are slim but one of the chicks has a larger, pinker comb than the rest. And maybe wattle development? The tail feathers are nothing descriptive and she wasn't cooperating with a full profile shot. It is really too early to tell but we're taking bets. ;) What do you think? The "red-head" is included for comparison...she is the same age, all photos taken today.

At four weeks nothing about this chick is screaming cockerel just yet -- the comb development/size is not as much an issue as color and this comb appears to be a nice pale yellow at this point and I am not seeing any real wattle development. While a side shot would be helpful to assess the plumage on the body for any tell-tale dark patches, etc what I can see so far appears uniform in color.

Just updating photos of our questionable chick. 4 weeks, a day or so shy of 5 weeks. The weather was finally nice enough to take a brief excursion outside where the lighting is much better. Plus, a photo bombing cattle dog.
