Why are my chicks laying with their wings open?

I'm wondering if my chicks are too hot. I have seen videos of full grown birds with their wings held out away from their bodies trying to get cool, but my chicks are all doing that under the brooder light. I have 12 chicks in a 2'x4' brooder and there's room for them to get away from the light if they want, but they seem to favor the end with the light. Any thoughts?

Pyxis is right. They're sunbathing. I take it they're still under a heat lamp? If so, maybe it's time to take them outdoors and let them enjoy the real sun for a little bit.

They're about a week and a half old now, and growing like weeds! I'd love to get them outside, but it snowed here 2 days ago and hasn't stopped raining since yesterday! I'm afraid it hasn't been warm enough to take them outside just yet. Thanks for the responses. I just wanted to make sure they weren't getting too hot under the lamp.
