Hello i was told that with some animals u have to sell animals in a 4h show and wasn't sure if this was true or not as I am not going to show them if I have to do that thanks

I can't speak with certainty (being from Wisconsin and all), but no, I don't believe you're required to sell your birds after participating in a 4-H show.

I have heard that some states require that any turkeys shown at the fair must be butchered afterward due to the threat of disease. However, this rule certainly shouldn't apply to other species of poultry.

I recommend contacting your county or local 4-H group leader(s) to find out more about the shows, what is expected of you as a participant, and so on. I think that they would prove to be a very useful resource to you.

Best of luck!

Some 4 H clubs raise pullets for sale, but this is just one facet of 4 H showing. Most 4 H birds that are shown are not sold. Do you belong to a 4 H poultry club? The club leader should be able to provide any information that you need.

I didn't want to sign up before I found out that u have to sell them cause hate to tell u but up I just want to show them so they tell me that I am selling my birds tuff luck I guess is there any 4h groups on here that I can talk to

You need to talk to someone in your local 4H club that you plan on showing at.

This is a case where YOU - the poultry owner - need to take responsibility and contact YOUR LOCAL 4-H club or Extension Office and get your information. Have your parents help you if you can't figure out where that would be. They will be happy to answer your questions before you sign up for anything.
