I am the proud new mama of 2 41/2 week old chicks that I was told were Cochins. I was also told that they were both hens, but I obviously have one of each! Can anyone help me determine which is which? This is my first time having birds of any kind. I've had them since they were 3 days old, they hatched the same day and looked the same until the bigger one started getting feathers in. My husband says the smaller one is just the "runt", lol.
One has feathered out much faster and is considerably bigger than the other.
The smaller one's comb and wattles are slightly bigger than the bigger birds and are barely pinking up.
