Ive hatched out two groups of American Bresse eggs out of my trio. Every chick so far (5) has had feathered legs. How can this be? My roo is splash and I have a white hen and a splash hen.

I know pretty much nothing about Bresse, but I do remember I hatched one out (clean legged) and I was reading about them and somewhere it said they Can have feathered legs sometimes? I wish I could be more help! ^^;

Bresse should be clean-legged. Yours may have been mixed with a feather-legged breed at some point and the gene is choosing now to express itself, although feather legs are dominant so it would be odd for it to be hidden until now. Do you only have the Bresse?
