Are these chickens safe to eat?

I'm looking over my flock and deciding which hens will need to go when I butcher next time. I have several birds that are not good layers who also have bald patches. The patches were caused by an over-aggressive rooster. We eliminated him about three months ago, but the feathers aren't growing back on those chickens. The patches are bright red and missing feathers.

Is that okay to eat or make broth from? Or, do I cull them? These chickens are about two years old.

I'd say its perfectly fine to eat them. Feathers may begin to grown back with a higher protein diet, but at 2 years old and poor laying, they would be headed for the crockpot if I were in your shoes.

They'll be fine to eat. Easier to pluck, too
