Mallard duck eggs external pip

2 of my mallard duck eggs externally pipped yesterday around 5pm and 6pm. They have made no progress today they both are just rocking and making chirping sounds. It has been 24 hours now. Is this normal because I'm a little worried
 
Yep!

It may take them 24 hrs or more from that first internal pip to even start to unzip!

As long as there is movement / peeping you can let them be.

There is a thread on the forum on when to assist a hatch. I'm unable to find it at the moment, but I would search it out and read up!
