Hi! My name is Lorie and I live in Southern Indiana and recently took the leap into chicken raising. My granny raised them and I can remember them running around the farm when I was a kid.So for me it is as much as sentimental as fun. Right now I have 7 Orpingtons in a brooder that are 4 weeks old. As soon as those are out I will be getting barred rocks. (Yes, I already need a 12 step program). My fiance has built me the Taj Mahal of coops and we live on 80 acres so I have lots of room and love. Anyway I had been googling questions daily and finding answers on your site so I decided to join your group.

Hi Lorie and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us. I'm sure it must be nice to see chickens milling around the property, like your childhood memories.

Seems that chicken maths has you firmly in its grasp, but at least you have the space to enable your addiction!
