Good day.

I would just like to introduce myself. My name is Jack Betz and I started farming with Boschveld chickens about a year ago. We breed, incubate and hatch Boschveld chickens which I then sell at different ages.

I live in Great Brakriver, South Africa. I love the outdoors and spend free time fishing, diving, horse riding, cycling and adventure bike riding.

I am looking forward to learn from this forum as much as possible about free range chickens

It's nice to meet you Jack! It would be fun to see some photos of your birds, that's not a breed I'm familiar with.

Thank you everyone for all the welcome whishes. I will post some pics of my birds sometime. Or go and check out my website: www.sonadorchickens.co.za. Those are rather old photos but I will upload some new nice ones where you can see the bigger birds better. The Boschveld chickens was first bred by a South African by the name of Mike Bosch. He took three African chickens breeds namely the Matabele, Ovambo and Venda and bred a chicken that is suitable for our African conditions. They are very hardly and make great free range birds. Good meat birds and they also lay very well.
