This little chick got crushed by a hen that wasn't supposed to be in the nest box. As you can see the chick has it's head out but on the wrong end of the egg!! The chick is alive and breathing normally. He just isn't peeping or opening his eyes yet.
The egg is probably from a Black Australorp.
There is TOO much blood on the membrane to help get him out. He was supposed to hatch 4 days ago but are a little late. I don't know if his yolk sac is absorbed either!!
He is under a broody hen right now and safe from other birds.
Any advice or help will be VERY appreciated Thanks!
