Happy Saturday -

I hope you are all having a great day.

I am needing some help with these three chicks I got from a local breeder. She originally told that me they were Ameraucana's. I am second guessing that. I believe all three are rostersI have added some pictures below for each pullet.

1. Is this a Ameraucana or possibly a Black Maran? She does not have feathered shanks. The breeder does breed these as well.

2. I believe this one is actually a Ameraucana…?

3. I believe this one is actually a Cream Legbar. The breeder does breed these. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for all of your help! :)

None are ameraucanas, they all have single combs. The bottom one I believe you are correct and she is a CCL pullet. The middle one is barred, so possibly a CCL cross. The first one, if it doesn't have feathered shanks and the breeder's BCM stock does it probably isn't a BCM because feathered shanks are dominant and should pass on to the offspring.

As far as being cockerels, so far they don't seem to show any signs of that, so you may be lucky and have three pullets. The CCL at least is definitely a pullet.

Thank you so much for your reply. My wife and I also have 2 Plymouth Barred Rocks and 1 Rhode Island Red all hens. They are great birds and fun to have around and are twelve weeks old. We wanted some blue eggs as well so that why we got these three. Have a great rest of your weekend.
